CASE NUMBER:  23-52228

Gresham, Ore.—A motorcyclist was critically injured by a hit-and-run driver on New Years Eve in Gresham. On Dec. 31, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Gresham police officers and medical personnel responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a red Chevy Aveo and motorcycle on SE Division St. and SE 202 Ave. The driver of the Aveo rear-ended the rider, knocking him off his motorcycle, then ran over the rider, fleeing the scene behind the wheel.

The victim of the hit-and-run was transported to the hospital and he remains in critical condition. Witnesses directed responding officers to a nearby side street where the suspect and at least one passenger abandoned the Aveo and continued to flee on foot. Officers were not able to locate the suspect or passenger.

The East Metro Vehicular Crimes Team (VCT) is investigating the case and is releasing video showing the suspect and passenger abandon the vehicle and leaving the scene. If anyone recognizes the suspect or passenger, they are asked to call the Gresham Police Tip-Line at 503.618.2719.
