Gresham, Ore.—Just before 7:00 p.m. yesterday, Gresham Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 19000 block of SE Yamhill St. When officers arrived, they located Leonard Eugene Madden of Gresham suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Madden, 55, was taken by ambulance to an area hospital where he later died.
This morning, the Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Madden’s death Homicide by gunfire. Gresham detectives and other members of the East Multnomah County Major Crimes Team were called to the scene and are leading the investigation. At this early stage of the investigation, the identity of any suspect(s) or what led to the shooting has yet to be determined.
