Gresham Police Investigating Crash Involving Stolen Cars (Photo) - 09/09/20

Gresham, Ore.— Today at 10:45am, Gresham Police responded to a report of a crash at SE Stark st./SE 176th ave. Witnesses called 911 to report two cars had been racing at a high rate of speed going eastbound on SE Stark st. and crashed into a third uninvolved car.

Police arrived onscene and found two crashed cars, both with one occupant each, and both drivers were injured. One of the cars that had been racing, along with the third uninvolved car, were crashed at SE Stark st/SE 176th ave., and the second car that had been racing left the scene. Witnesses followed the other car, a red Toyota Corolla, to the area of SE Yamhill st./SE 179th ave. and reported that the lone occupant of that car, an adult male, walked southbound away from the area. Police quickly learned that both cars that were racing eastbound on SE Stark were reported as stolen vehicles. Both drivers of the two cars at SE Stark st/SE 176th ave. were taken by ambulance to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Police are looking for any witnesses that saw the driver of the third car walking away from it at SE 179th ave./SE Yamhill st. and can identify him. If you have information on the driver, please call the Gresham Police Tip Line at 503-618-2719.
