News Release
Police Investigating Possible Inappropriate Online Contact Between High School Staff Member and Student - 02/15/18

Gresham, Ore. -- Police investigators are looking into allegations of inappropriate online contact between a female clerical staff member at Centennial High School and a male high school student.

On Feb. 9, Centennial High School administration learned of the allegations and promptly notified their school resource officer. The staff member in question was immediately placed on administrative leave and reportedly is no longer employed with the Centennial School District. The school and district office are cooperating fully with the police investigation.

Currently, the allegations involve one student and investigators report there are no indications the two had any physical contact.

Police would like to talk with any student who may have been subjected to inappropriate contact with any staff member, regardless of their position or place of employment. Students are encouraged to talk with their guardians, doctor, trusted school staff, counselor, or police if they have experienced abuse or inappropriate contact with an adult. Students can also seek advice at www.oregonyouthline.org or by texting teen2teen to 839863.

No additional information is available at this time.
