Structure Fire (Photo) -05/03/20

At 9:45 am this morning, a citizen called 911 and reported a fire in her living room at 225 NW Blossom Ave. Grants Pass Fire Rescue arrived on the scene approximately 3 minutes after the 911 call. First arriving unit observed smoke coming from the front door of the house. Crews quickly pulled a hose line and extinguished a fire in the living room that was beginning to spread to other rooms in the house. Crews then determined that the fire had not extended to the attic. The owner of the house was taken to Three Rivers Hospital for observation by AMR due to smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.  Units from Grants Pass Fire Rescue, Rural Mero Fire Department , Grants Pass Police and American Medical Response responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone having information on the fire should call Grants Pass Department of Public Safety at 541-450-6200.
