News Release
Traffic Crash "South Y", Highway 238 and Highway 199 - 08/09/19

On August 8th, 2019 at 7:15 P.M. the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, Police and Fire responded to an auto vs bicycle crash. A joint effort from Grants Pass department of Public Safety, Josephine County Sheriffs Office, and Oregon State Police had the intersection closed off quickly and traffic diverted.

The bicyclist was transported to Three Rivers Hospital due to his injuries. He is currently in stable condition.

While the bicyclist was determined to be at fault the driver of the vehicle was lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Driving under the influence of intoxicants.

The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety would like to thank the citizens of Grants Pass for vigilance as several witnesses were very helpful in the investigation.
