Robbery Arrest (Photo) - 06/15/19

On Friday, June 14th at approximately 7:40 PM, Grants Pass Police received an emergency call from the employees at the Dutch Bros. Coffee stand located at 251 NE Agness Ave. Employees reported the stand had just been robbed by a male subject purporting to be armed with a knife.  The suspect threatened employees, who complied with the suspect's demands.  After receiving cash from the Dutch Bros. employees, the suspect fled on foot.  Grants Pass Police, assisted by Oregon State Police set up a perimeter and began searching for the suspect.  About 15 minutes after the robbery, police received a phone call from the Los Taquitos Mexican Restaurant reporting a suspicious male inside.  Based on this information, police responded and contacted a male identified as 42 year-old Michael George.  From the investigation that followed, George was arrested for Robbery 2, and Menacing.  Nobody was injured during the course of the incident.  George was transported to, and lodged at the Josephine County Jail. Grants Pass Police would like to thank the Oregon State Police and the alert citizens at the Los Taquitos Restaurant for their assistance.
