ARRESTED - BRENDEN
ARRESTED - BRENDEN
Robbery / Assault (Photos) (Photo) - 04/16/19

On 4-13-2019, at approximately 0909 hrs, the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to Sears Roebuck parking lot located at 1533 NE F St., for a report of a female employee who had been backed over by a vehicle.  Investigation revealed a white male described as being in his md 20's with curly hair wearing an unknown color of jeans and a black jacket ran out of the store with a case of Craftsman tools valued at $109.99 without paying for them.  The male suspect jumped into the driver's side of his pick-up truck followed by the assistant manager who was running after him.  The suspect quickly backed up, hitting the manager, and driving over her legs with the front end of his truck.  The suspect sped out of the parking lot and was able to flee the area prior to police arrival.  Additionally, there was a white female adult with dirty blond hair seated in the passenger seat.

On Tuesday, April 16th, 2019 Sheriff's Deputies patrolling the Wolf Creek area attempted to contact the driver of a vehicle in Wolf Creek. The vehicle eluded deputies, leaving their car at 2792 Lower Wolf Creek Rd.  A search of the area was conducted and Michael Brenden was contacted. Monday, GPDPS Detectives received tips from the community implicating Brenden in the robbery/assault at Sears from April 13th.  Brenden was taken into custody by Sheriff's Deputies and transported to the Josephine County Jail.  While searching for Brenden, the suspect vehicle was located nearby.  The truck had been painted black/blue and was hidden from view.  The truck was recovered and returned to the registered owner, who had reported it stolen prior to the robbery at Sears.  Along with changing the appearance of the truck, Brenden's hair was significantly different upon his capture.

Shortly after locating Brenden, the female was identified as Destiny Dawn Graeta.  Graeta was then located and arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.  At the time of this update, she is being interviewed to determine if charges will be filed. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety would like to thank the community for tips that assisted in identifying Brenden, and the Josephine County Sheriff's Office for their assistance.
