News Release

Granite Falls School Board Appoints Bill Dane Director Of District #2 (Photo) - 04/13/23

During the April 12, 2023, Board meeting, the Granite Falls School Board of Directors appointed Bill Dane as the newest board member.  Bill is replacing Robert Butler who retired after 10 years on the Board. Dane will take over Director District #2.

Dane moved to Granite Falls in the fall of 1982 for work. He grew up and went to school in the city of Tacoma where his family landed after retiring from the military. He had the pleasure of raising his family in Granite Falls and becoming a servant of the community by volunteering and then being hired full-time by the local fire department. During his time in Granite Falls, Bill has helped raise an amazing family, volunteered as a firefighter, a parent helper in the schools, and a coach in various junior sports leagues. In his spare time, he plays bagpipes with the county’s firefighter’s pipes and drums band. Bill’s current position in the fire department allows him a unique perspective on how government agencies work and he hopes to use this experience to help with his position on the school board.

A resident of the Granite Falls community for 40 years, Dane will be a great voice for District #2 and a wonderful addition to the school board.
