Gladstone Police Are Doing Extra Patrols For DUII Drivers -12/17/21
GLADSTONE, Ore. -- The Gladstone Police Department has been awarded a 2021-2022 DUII High Visibility Enforcement grant from Oregon Impact. This grant will allow officers to do extra, targeted enforcement to arrest DUII drivers. Along with other local agencies, these missions are aimed at keeping drivers and pedestrians safe throughout Oregon.
High visibility enforcement, increasing the number of officers on the streets who aggressively seek drunk drivers, is designed to deter people from driving after they have been drinking. Officers will also be looking for impaired drivers during this holiday season, specifically December 15th through January 1st.
Ways to prevent impaired driving:
-Stop alcohol service long before the event is over
-Prepare for guests to stay the night, or assist with calling for cab service
-Choose a responsible designated driver
-Serve plenty of food to help lessen the effects of alcohol
-Offer a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages
