Greater Vancouver Chamber Seeks Nominations for the 2024 First Citizen Award (Photo) - 06/06/24

The First Citizen Award recognizes individuals who through their business, volunteering, and philanthropic efforts, improve the lives of those in the community by serving first.  

Vancouver, WA - The Greater Vancouver Chamber (GVC) is pleased to announce it is accepting nominations for the 2024 First Citizen Award, presented by HAPO Community Credit Union. This prestigious accolade honors extraordinary individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, and community service, significantly contributing to the growth and well-being of Southwest Washington. 

Now in its 85th year, the First Citizen Award celebrates Clark County’s unsung heroes. These individuals are recognized for their exceptional contributions across various fields, including their professional achievements, dynamic community involvement, and exemplary citizenship. 

Throughout the years, First Citizen honorees have come from diverse backgrounds. From pioneering entrepreneurs who have not only grown their businesses but also generously given back to the community, to innovative professionals who have dedicated themselves to enhancing the region through their ideals and philanthropy. Their stories inspire and uplift, showcasing the power of selfless service and commitment to the community.

"The First Citizen Award is more than just a recognition; it’s a celebration of the spirit of giving and leadership that drives our region forward." 

The GVC invites community members, businesses, organizations, and institutions to nominate deserving individuals for this prestigious award. Nominations are open to those who, through their business endeavors, volunteer efforts, and philanthropic initiatives, have significantly improved the lives of others by prioritizing service. 

To submit a nomination, please visit The deadline for nominations is Friday, July 19, 2024. A distinguished panel of community leaders will evaluate the submissions, assessing each candidate's impact, achievements, and overall contributions. 

The recipient of the 2024 First Citizen Award will be honored at the Chamber’s Business & Leadership Awards, presented by Riverview Bank, slated for the Fall of this year. This grand event will gather community members, business leaders, and dignitaries to celebrate the exceptional dedication and achievements of the award recipient.
