Gresham-Barlow School Board seeks applicants for board vacancy - 09/10/21

The Board of Directors of the Gresham-Barlow School District is seeking applicants to fill a temporary position on the board created by the resignation of Board Member Carla Piluso. The position is an at-large position and can be filled by any eligible resident of the district.

Applicants must be registered voters and must have resided in the district for one year prior to the date of the appointment. Employees of the Gresham-Barlow School district are ineligible to serve. For more information about board service, review the Guide for Oregon School Board Candidates.

The appointee will serve until June 30, 2023. In May of 2023, an election will be held to elect an individual to serve the remaining portion of the unexpired term, which began July 1, 2021 and ends June 30, 2025.

Persons who wish to be considered for the appointment should submit a letter of interest in which they provide the following: 

1. A brief personal history.

2. A history of public service, particularly as it relates to education and community activity.

3. Their thoughts related to the two or three biggest issues facing the Gresham-Barlow School District during the next 12-18 months and how they would address them.

Letters of interest must be submitted to the superintendent’s office by September 30, 2021 at 5 p.m. Candidate interviews will take place in October 2021 in the Partnership Room at the Center for Advanced Learning located at 1484 NW Civic Drive, Gresham, OR 97030.
