Man Arrested After Seven-Month Crime Spree -05/27/24
Man Arrested After Seven-Month Crime Spree May 27, 2024 In October of 2023, the Forest Grove Police Department began an investigation into multiple reports of vehicle windows being shot at by BBs, ball bearings, and other unknown objects while driving in the area of E Street and Pacific Avenue. By November of 2023, the suspect was unable to be identified and no additional incidents were reported. In May of 2024, multiple victims reported their vehicle windows were shot at by BBs, ball bearings, and other unknown projectiles while driving in the area of E Street and Pacific Avenue. By this time a total of 12 victims reported damage to their vehicles. On the evening of Friday, May 24, 2024, Forest Grove Police Department Officers coordinated with Forest Grove Police Department Detectives to develop a plan to apprehend the suspect. That night at approximately 10:30 PM the suspect was located and arrested on E Street near Pacific Avenue. When the suspect was arrested, he had a slingshot and a container of ball bearings in his possession. It was also later learned the suspect had hit a passing vehicle with a ball bearing minutes before his arrest. The suspect was identified as 28-year-old Caleb Spurlock of Forest Grove. Spurlock was lodged at the Washington County Jail for numerous crimes including Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Endangering, Assault in the Third Degree, and Assault in the Fourth Degree. ###
