On March 19, 2018, at about 415pm, Forest Grove patrol officers responded to 2144 Hawthorne St. Apartment # 63, for a welfare check of a citizen.

Officers subsequently discovered Cynthia Belton, age 54, deceased in her apartment. Patrol officers notified detectives who began investigating the incident as a suspicious death. The Forest Grove Police Department is currently being assisted by the Washington County Major Crimes Team and Oregon State Police Forensics.
