*Update* 2 Alarm Fire Damages Forest Grove Home (Photo) - 08/16/18

Update to yesterday's (8/15/2018) 2 Alarm Fire on Edgeview Lane in Forest Grove. Fire investigators from Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, Forest Grove Police, Oregon State Fire Marshal and Oregon State Police spent several hours on Wednesday investigating the scene and interviewing the occupants as well as neighbors. It was found that the fire started in a small Toyota motorhome that was parked next to the house. Potentially from the propane system used in it. The fire destroyed the motorhome, a car and outbuilding next to it as well as damaging the exterior and attic of the home and an SUV. Other portions of the house sustained smoke and water damage.

This morning at at 1:23am, Forest Grove Firefighters were dispatched to a residential fire on Edgeview Lane. When firefighters arrived, they found a house, vehicle and outbuilding on fire. Due to the amount of fire, a 2nd Alarm was called, bringing in additional resources from neighboring communities. It took firefighters about 40 minutes to extinguish the flames. One firefighter from a mutual aid department showed signs of heat exhaustion, they were checked out on scene by Metro West Ambulance, but were not taken to a hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and more details will be released when they come available.

Forest Grove Fire & Rescue was assisted on scene by Cornelius Fire Department, Gaston Fire District, Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, Banks Fire District, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Forest Grove Police Department and Metro West Ambulance.
