House Fire Damages Vacant Home In Eugene (Photo)

Eugene, OR. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a house fire near downtown Eugene early Sunday morning. Just after 5 AM on August 16th, a caller reported thick black smoke coming from a vacant home in the 1400 block of Ferry St.
Engine 1 from the downtown station arrived in under 4 minutes to find the single story home heavily involved in fire. Crews quickly went to work to suppress the fire and search for any potential victims.
There were no victims located or injuries reported. The fire required extensive overhaul and crews were on scene for over two hours. The fire is under investigation.
