(Time updated) Eugene, OR. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to a brush fire at the top of Skinner Butte in Eugene early Tuesday morning. Firefighters were called to a fire on the butte at 12:15 AM on July 2nd. Witness statements indicate fireworks may have been the cause. Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire estimated at half an acre. It took 2 hours to fully extinguish hot spots. There were no injuries reported.
