Springfield OR, Eugene Springfield Fire crews extinguished a well involved house fire in the 300 block of 26th street in Springfield Friday afternoon.  Arriving crews found heavy fire from the front of the home with the single occupant reporting there was nobody inside.  Crews extinguished the fire and completed a search to confirm there were no victims.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
