Notice to Interested Applicants - Regional Committee on School District Organization - Director District #3 - 10/12/20

The Board of Directors of Educational Service District 112 seeks applications from interested candidates to fill a vacant position in Director District #3 and a vacant position in Director District #5 on the Regional Committee on School District Organization.  

 

The Regional Committee is a voluntary group of seven citizens representing six Southwest Washington counties in Educational School District 112.  The purpose of the Regional Committee is to make decisions regarding the boundaries, consolidation and dissolution of school districts, when the school districts cannot reach an agreement regarding the same, and to adjust school district assets and liabilities when changes in the boundaries are made.

 

There is one position to be filled for District #3, which wholly contains the following school district:  Hockinson.  And contains parts of the following: Battleground.  Starting at the intersection of Risto Rd and NE 199th St.; West on NE 199th St to NE 167th Ave.; North on NE 167th Ave to NE 219th St.; West on NE 219th St to NE 50th Ave.; South on NE 50th Ave to NE 94th St.; West on NE 94th St to School District boundary. Counterclockwise following School District boundary to Risto Rd. West on Risto Rd to the point of the beginning.  Contains parts of the following: Evergreen.  Starting at the intersection of NE 162nd Ave and NE 28th St.; West on NE 28th St to NE 124th Ave.; North on 124th Ave to NE 39th St.; West on NE 39th St to NE 122nd Ave.; North on NE 122nd Ave to NE 49th St.; West on NE 49th St to NE 112th Ave.; North on NE 112th Ave to NE Gher Rd.; North on NE Gher Rd to NE 109th Ave.; North on NE 109th Ave to NE Covington Rd.; Northwest on NE Covington Rd to NE 76th St.; West on NE 76th St / NE 78th St to School District boundary. Clockwise following School District boundary to NE 162nd Ave.; South on NE 162nd Ave to the point of beginning.

 

There is one position to be filled for District #5, which wholly includes the following school district:  Vancouver.  Starting at the intersection of NE 58th St and NE 45th Ave.; South on NE 45th Ave to NE 54th St.; West on NE 54th St to NE 40th Ave.; South on NE 40th Ave to NE 52nd St.; West on NE 52nd St to NE St. Johns Rd.; North on NE St. Johns Rd to NE Minnehaha St.; West on NE Minnehaha St to NE 63rd St.; West on NE 63rd St to 1-5.; North on 1-5 to NE 78th St / NW 78th St.; West on NE 78th St / NW 78th St to Chicken Creek.; West on Chicken Creek to Vancouver Lake.; Northerly through Vancouver Lake and outlet channel to School District boundary.; Counterclockwise following School District boundary to NE 58th St.; West on NE 58th St to the point of the beginning.

 

To be eligible, interested applicants must be registered voters that reside in the District which they are applying to represent. This Regional Committee position will serve a four-year term beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2025.

 

Interested applicants may confirm district residency and/or request an application packet by contacting Amber Scott at (360) 952-3317 and providing their street address and voter precinct number.   Completed application packets should be sent directly to:  Educational Service District 112, Attention:  Wendy Niehaus, 2500 NE 65th Avenue, Vancouver, WA 98661 no later than 4:30 p.m., November 13, 2020.

 

The superintendent of public instruction, a member of the State Board of Education, and educational service district superintendent, a member of a board of directors of a school district, a member of an educational service district board, a member of a governing board of either a private school or a private school district which conducts any grades kindergarten through twelve, officers appointed by any such governing board, and employees of a school district, an educational service district, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, a private school or a private school district are not eligible and should not apply.
