Each year ESD 105 has the privilege of recognizing individuals from throughout our region to serve as our Regional Educator of the Year Award winners! These individuals represent our region’s best of the best in education! 

Anyone can make a nomination for our regional awards including peers, school/district administrators, students and community members! Click here for more information and to make a nomination. 

This year, there are three award categories: 

• Regional Teacher of the Year
• Regional Classified Employee of the Year
• Regional Principal of the Year (NEW for 2024)

Regional Teacher of the Year and Regional Classified Employee of the Year award winners advance to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) state recognition program where one individual from each category is selected to advance to the national competition. 

Want to get involved?! After the nomination period is closed, we will convene two judging panels to help select our south central Washington winners. This is a wonderful opportunity to play an active role in helping to recognize excellence in our school communities. We are currently seeking panel judges from all industries for our 2024 selection committees. Interested individuals should contact ESD 105’s Marketing Program Manager, Brittany Kaple (brittany.kaple@esd105.org), for more information about serving as a panel judge. About ESD 105:

ESD 105 supports 25 public school districts and more than 20 state-approved private and tribal schools in South Central Washington.  The agency serves the expressed needs of those schools in coordinating and conducting cooperative programs to benefit the approximately 68,000 K-12 students who are served in Kittitas and Yakima counties and portions of Grant and Klickitat counties.  As one of nine ESDs in the state, ESD 105 carries out liaison activities between local school districts, the Washington State Office of Public Instruction, and the State Board of Education.
