Need for Speed Continues at the Fairgrounds with Douglas County Dirtrack Racing

August 26 Features Exclusive Oregon Appearance of the Kubota High Limit Racing Series

(Douglas County, Ore.) Have we mentioned lately the treasure trove of happenings at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Complex?  This time it is the veritable need, the need for speed!  Even though summer is winding down, excitement at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Complex is still on turbo charge thanks to the Douglas County Dirtrack (DCDT).  New to their racing line up this year is the Kubota High Limit Racing Series (HLR), dubbed locally as the “Showdown on the River” on Monday, August 26, 2024!  The high-flying family friendly race will feature winged 410-class Sprint Cars that can reach speeds up to 100 mph on the 3/10-mile oval dirt track going flat out for $12,000 in cash prizes. Even if you are not a motorhead, you and your family won’t want to miss the excitement this thrilling checkered flag showdown brings to Douglas County!

Not only is this the first time the nationally renowned HLR series will roll into Oregon, but Douglas County will be the only Oregon stop for this coast to coast all-star 410 sprint racing series.  The HLR 2024 series boasts 59 race dates on 36 dirt tracks in 19 states from February to October this year!  The August 26 race is set to feature sprint series favorites like Brad Sweet, Tyler Courtney, Rico Abreu, Brent Marks, James McFadden and more battling it out for the $12,000 paycheck.  Even though this series features high-speed thrills and non-stop action with famous “high roller” drivers from across the United States, it is also open to all-comers regional and local alike.

Tickets for the high stakes race event are available at www.highlimitracing.com. Adult general admission tickets are $40, while children’s general admission (ages 6-12) are $20. Children 5 and under are free. Special reserved seating, for all ages, is $45 and comes with a FREE pit pass upgrade at the track if the ticket is purchased in advance online.  Make sure you and your family head out to the track early for a special meet and greet Fan Fest Show at 4:30 pm where there will be an opportunity to get selfies, autographs and ask questions with the sprint car drivers.  Tickets can be purchased online until midnight the night before the event or at the gate which opens at 4:00 pm on race day.  If you are interested in camping, full hook up camping spots are sold out, but there is still room on the grounds for dry camping, please call (541) 440-4425 for reservation information.  If you are not able to attend the HRL racing event on August 26, you can still watch every lap live on FloRacing, the exclusive broadcast partner of the Kubota High Limit Racing Series.

DCDT has been managed and promoted by Roseburg Race Promotions since 2023 under the leadership of Steven Snawder, Brian Crocket, Michael Crisp and Brad McMaster, with Len Waterman as Director of Marketing and Promotions and Kyler Shaw helping with technical support.  DCDT is a 3/10-mile oval dirt track located inside the Douglas County Fairgrounds Complex.  The track area previously held a quarter-mile, hard surface speedway track for hardtop vehicle racing under the name Douglas County Speedway (1965-2022).  Prior to that it was a 3/8-mile horse racing dirt track (1944-1964).  Under Roseburg Race Promotions' new management, the speedway was converted to dirt racing surface in 2023, renamed Douglas County Dirtrack, and now offers a full schedule of racing action from April to September every year.

Gentleman (and ladies) start your engines, hold onto your seats, and see you on August 26!
