FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 12, 2021

 

Applicants Needed for the Douglas County Planning Commission

 

(Douglas County, OR) The Douglas County Board of Commissioners are seeking interested persons to serve on the Douglas County Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission is a seven-member advisory and decision-making body of Douglas County.  Members represent differing interests, geographic areas and occupations.  The term of appointment is four years.  The recruitment will give priority to applicants who can represent the southern and coastal regions of Douglas County.

 

The Planning Commission advises the County on land use program activities, serves as the appeal body for contested land use decisions and conducts hearings on discretionary land use actions.  The Planning Commission is an important and integral part of land use planning under Oregon laws.

 

Citizens interested in being considered for Planning Commission membership should submit an application to the Douglas County Board of Commissioners or the Planning Department.  Applications may be obtained from the Board of Commissioners or the Planning Department. For an electronic application: BOC.Assistants@co.douglas.or.us.  Additional information may be obtained by contacting the Planning Department in Room 106 of the Justice Building at the Douglas County Courthouse, located at 1036 SE Douglas Avenue in Roseburg, or by calling (541) 440-4289.
