The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Responds To Single-Vehicle Crash In La Pine After Truck Crashes Into Power Pole And Fence (Photo) - 08/17/26

La Pine, OR – On August 17 at approximately 10:51 a.m., deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single‑vehicle crash on Finley Butte Road in La Pine. Deputies say the driver of a Midstate Electric truck hit a power pole and went through a fence onto private property.

The male driver was the only person inside the Ford F150 when the crash occurred. He was taken to St. Charles–Bend by La Pine Rural Fire Protection District with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

The crash closed portions of Finley Butte Road and Wheeler Road for several hours while deputies investigated and Mid‑State Electric crews assessed the damage and ensured the safety of the neighborhood.

All roads have since reopened, but deputies ask people to be cautious as Midstate Electric Crews continue working in the area. The crash remains under investigation.
