On July 31st, 2023, detectives with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit (SCU) began a narcotics investigation regarding the sales of methamphetamine out of the City Center Motel in Redmond Oregon.
Detectives learned that Aundria Bass, a 41-year-old Florida resident, was trafficking commercial quantities of methamphetamine from her motel room and began a surveillance operation in the late morning hours.
Detectives developed probable cause to request a search warrant for Bass’ vehicle and motel room. Investigators executed that search warrant in the evening hours and located multiple individuals inside along with commercial quantities of methamphetamine, evidence of narcotics sales, a substantial quantity of crack cocaine and a small amount of fentanyl pills.
While executing the warrant investigators identified John R. Johnson, a 35-year-old Redmond resident, who was arrested on an outstanding Deschutes County warrant.
Through the investigation detectives learned that Bass was a Florida resident that relocated to Central Oregon because of Ballot Measure 110 and her belief that illicit drugs were legal in Oregon. Bass intended to promote her illegal narcotics business by selling narcotics from her downtown Redmond motel room.
Bass was also found to be manufacturing and ingesting crack cocaine inside her motel room as narcotics detectives made entry. Bass was arrested for possession, delivery and manufacturing Methamphetamine as well as possession and manufacturing of cocaine.
