Released by: Sergeant Jason Wall

Release Date: April 9, 2023

Location: 3600 block of Cline Falls Highway- Redmond

Arrested: Wagner, Jason Bayan 47-year-old male, Redmond

Charges: Escape II, Restraining Order Violation, Reckless Endangering, Criminal Mischief I, DUII, Resisting Arrest

NARRATIVE:

On April 8, 2023, at approximately 3:15 pm, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a report of a restraining order violation at the Cline Falls Mobile Park in the 3600 block of Highway 126. The reporting party/victim contacted Deschutes County 911 Dispatch to report her boyfriend, Jason Wagner, was at her residence and was actively ramming her parked vehicle, causing extensive damage to the un-occupied vehicle.

Wagner had just been served with a restraining order and removed from the residence a few hours earlier, prohibiting him from contacting the victim or being at the residence. The female victim also reported Wagner was intoxicated.

The victim reported Wagner had driven away from the scene before Deputies could arrive. The first responding deputy however was able to locate Wagner in a gravel road area near the 3600-block of Cline Falls Highway and attempted to arrest Wagner for violating the restraining order and DUII. While doing so, the deputy was dragged a short distance by Wagner’s vehicle when Wagner resisted being taken into custody and fled the traffic stop scene.

Shortly after Wagner fled the scene, a second responding deputy used mobile spike strips to stop Wagner during which he again resisted arrest. Wagner was then taken into custody after a short struggle while deputies effected the arrest.

Wagner was transported to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Adult Jail and lodged on the above-mentioned charges.

The first responding deputy was not injured as a result of being dragged by Wagner’s vehicle and returned to patrol duties immediately afterward.
