Rescued Subjects: 31 year old female, Redmond OR
On 01-16-22, at about 11:34 AM, Deschutes County Dispatch received a 911 call regarding an injured skier on the Tangent Trail between Swampy Lakes Snow Park and Virginia Meissner Snow Park.
A Deputy made phone contact with the reporting person, who informed the Deputy that the injured female would need assistance to get out to the parking lot at Swampy Lakes Snow Park. Six Search and Rescue volunteers and one Special Services Deputy responded to the call.
The six volunteers were able to make their way to the patient using snow shoes, arriving at approximately 12:30 PM. Members of the medical team assessed the females physical condition and provided aid, including placing her into a litter and carrying her to the highway where she was assisted into a personal vehicle.
The female stated she did not need any further assistance and would seek her own medical care.
