Location: "Bens" Mountain Bike Trail, approximately 1.3 miles from Phil's Trail Head
Injured Subject: Larry Rosenberg, 68 year old male, Bend, OR
On 06/03/20, at about 12:18pm, 9-1-1 Dispatch received a call from a subject recreating in the Phil's Trail system, who had come across an injured mountain bike rider on the "Bens" trail, approximately 1.3 miles from Phil's Trail Head. Larry Rosenberg had just fallen off of his bike and landed on a rock. It was reported that Rosenberg would need assistance getting back to the road so he could be attended to by Bend Fire Department.
Two DCSO Deputies responded to Rosenburg's location, while a call out was initiated for DCSO SAR Volunteers to respond. The first deputy arrived at 12:55pm, with 13 DCSO SAR Volunteers arriving at 1:22pm with a wheeled litter. It was determined Rosenberg could walk under his own power and he was assisted as he walked approximately 1/3 mile to Skyliners Rd via an alternate trail. Rosenberg was turned over to Bend Fire personnel at approximately 2:10pm, who transported him to St. Charles Hospital in Bend for further treatment for non life threatening injuries.
