On 02/05/2020 at approximately 11:44pm, Deschutes County deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle crash on Deschutes Market Road near Dale Road.  Information received through Deschutes County 911 indicated that the crash involved a silver vehicle that had impacted a power pole.

Upon arrival, Deschutes County deputies discovered that a silver 1997 BMW 318 had slid off the roadway and had struck a power pole on the left side of the vehicle.  The impact was significant and the vehicle was completely immobilized.  The roadway was not icy at the time and weather was not a factor.

The driver of the vehicle was not on scene and the force of the impact suggested that they may be injured.  Deputies and EMS personnel searched the area on foot, utilized K9’s and a thermal drone to attempt to locate the driver in the area without success.

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Consolidated Towing.  Central Electric Cooperative responded to evaluate the damage to the power pole.  The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office would like to determine the identity of the driver to ascertain their welfare and discuss the incident.

Deschutes County was assisted on scene by the Bend Fire Department, CEC, and Consolidated Towing.
