NARRATIVE:

On 10/16/2019 at approximately 7:59pm, a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 1988 Nissan pickup in the 20700 block of NW Smith Rock Way.  The vehicle was occupied by a male driver.

Deschutes County K9 “Brolo” was deployed to locate the subject.  At approximately 8:55pm,  K9 “Brolo” located the subject hiding inside a large brush pile on a field in the area.  The subject was taken into custody without incident.

He was identified as Derrick James Freeman, 23 years old from Lebanon.  Freeman had two outstanding felony warrants.  Freeman was booked into the Deschutes County jail on the warrants and additional charges of Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle and Attempt to Elude Police.
