Child Pornography Investigation Leads To Arrest Of Redmond Area Man (Photo) - 09/05/19

NARRATIVE:
In the spring of 2019, detectives with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation after receiving a tip from Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) regarding Joshua Shipman possibly possessing and distributing child pornography in Deschutes County. On August, 28, 2019, detectives contacted Shipman while a search warrant was being executed at his residence in the 1400 block of Highland View Loop, west of Redmond. During the search warrant, detectives found evidence of Shipman viewing and distributing images of child pornography. Shipman was arrested and then lodged in the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Adult Jail on the charges of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the First and Second Degree.
Additionally, detectives obtained evidence that led them to obtain a second search warrant for a residence located on Ramblewood Drive, in Coquille, Oregon. On September 4, 2019, detectives executed the warrant with the assistance of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives seized additional items of evidence, as well as identified a thirty-two year old Coquille woman as a person of interest in this case.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a national network of 61 coordinated task forces representing over 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies.
This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
