By:  Sgt. K. Dizney

Date:  8/14/18

On Tuesday, 8/14/18, at approximately 7:54 PM, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office responded with the Alfalfa Fire District to a report of a structure fire at 25000 block of Cultus Lane in Alfalfa.  Reports were that there was a fire in the attic area.  While responding, it was confirmed that the only occupant was able to evacuate safely.  The fire was contained to a small area of the single-family one story residence.  An initial investigation by the Alfalfa Fire District concluded this fire was likely started by electrical wiring near the ceiling.  The only occupant of the home did not require further assistance.  Damage estimates are currently not available.
