NARRATIVE:
On July 25, 2018 at approximately 0225 hours, deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to an injury motor vehicle crash in the 56000 block of Snow Goose Road, Bend. The initial information was a single vehicle had crashed into a tree.
Upon deputies arriving on scene, they contacted the driver of the vehicle, Dayton Sauer of Bend. Dayton Sauer told deputies she was driving north on Snow Goose Road and was driving too fast for a curve in the road and crashed. During the investigation, the deputy developed probable cause to believe D. Sauer was operating the vehicle under the influence of an intoxicant when she crashed. Sauer was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Adult Jail on the listed charges.
Vehicle front seat passenger Julianne Pade received serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend by Life Flight air ambulance.
Vehicle rear seat passenger Andrew Anderson received serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by ground ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
Rear seat passengers William Larson and Renea Sauer received minor injuries and were given a courtesy ride to a residence in the area.
The crash and whether the vehicle occupants were wearing seatbelts is still under investigation.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sunriver Police Department, Sunriver Fire Department, La Pine Fire Department, and Life Flight.
