NARRATIVE:

On January 05, 2018, at about 9:04 p.m. a deputy with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office observed Curtis operating a 2004 Chevy Colorado on Highway 97 near Pumice Ave. He knew from previous contacts with Curtis that her driver's license was suspended and initiated a traffic stop on Curtis in the Safeway parking lot in Redmond.

During this time a Redmond Police Officer arrived to assist. After making contact with Curtis, the officer subsequently obtained a consent for and searched her vehicle, finding suspected methamphetamine. Upon contacting Curtis' Probation Officer the deputy was advised a probation "detainer" would be placed on her for a violation of her probation. Upon hearing this Curtis fled in her vehicle, running over landscaping in the Safeway parking lot.

Curtis fled southbound on Highway 97. The deputy and Redmond Officer pursued Curtis southbound to the area of Hwy 97/Yew Ave., reaching speeds of 25 miles per hour. With the slick road conditions the pursuit was discontinued in the interest of public safety.

At about 02:04 hours, another deputy located her vehicle on Bachelor Ln. east of Bend. She was found sleeping in it and was taken into custody without incident. She was lodged in the Deschutes County Jail on the above listed charges.
