NARRATIVE:

On November 01, 2017, the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office received information that an Aramark employee assigned to work within the kitchen of the Deschutes County Adult Jail was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a jail inmate. Detectives with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office immediately began investigating the allegation and interviewing the involved subjects.

The investigation determined Aramark employee April Hoisington-Kite was involved in an inappropriate relationship with jail inmate Stephen Rechner that included sexual contact on more than one occasion. Hoisington-Kite was also introducing chewing tobacco into the facility and providing it to Rechner.

Once the investigation determined Hoisington-Kite had committed criminal conduct within the Deschutes County Adult Jail, Aramark Corporation was notified and her access into the jail was revoked. Aramark is contracted with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office to provide food services for jail inmates and operate within the kitchen area of the Deschutes County Adult Jail. Aramark Corporation has also taken this matter very seriously and assisted with the investigation.
