DPSST LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER CERTIFICATION MAINTENANCE WORKGROUP MEETING SCHEDULED

 

Notice of Scheduled Meeting

The DPSST Law Enforcement Officer Certification Maintenance Workgroup will hold a meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, in Conference Room A234 at the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training located at 4190 Aumsville Hwy SE, Salem, Oregon. Agenda Items:

 

1.   Introductions

 

2.   Review of Requirements in Other States

 

3.   Discussion of Current Training Standards

  • Length of the maintenance period and total hours required
  • Annual versus three-year training requirements
  • Required training topics and distribution of hours

4.   Survey Development

 

5.   Next Workgroup Meeting: Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

 

Administrative Announcement

This is a public meeting, subject to the public meeting law and it will be recorded. Deliberation of issues will only be conducted by Telecommunications Curriculum Advisory Committee members unless permitted by the Chair. Individuals who engage in disruptive behavior that impedes official business will be asked to stop being disruptive or leave the meeting. Additional measures may be taken to have disruptive individuals removed if their continued presence poses a safety risk to the other persons in the room or makes it impossible to continue the meeting.

 

DPSST provides reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access for people with disabilities and those with limited English proficiency. To request a sign language interpreter, translation services, or other accommodations, please contact Juan Lopez at (503) 551-3167 or at juan.lopez-hernandez@dpsst.oregon.gov, at least 48 hours before the meeting.
