PROPOSED RULE CHANGE INFORMATION
Rule Caption: Adding discrimination as a violation of the moral fitness standards for public safety professional certification.
Amending: OARs 259-008-0015, 259-008-0290, 259-008-0300 & 259-008-0310
Rule Change Overview: DPSST filed a proposed rule change to collect constituent and public comment on amendments to the denial and revocation standards. These proposed rule changes add discrimination as a violation of the moral fitness standards adopted by the Board on Public Safety Standards and Training. The additions include mandatory denial/revocation for convictions of a bias or hate crime and discharges for cause that include intentional conduct performed under the color of office that constitutes discrimination. The additions include discretionary denial/revocation for other criminal dispositions and separations of employment that include discriminatory conduct.
