Notice of Regular Meeting
The DPSST NFPA Marine Fire Fighting for Land-Based Fire Fighters Task Force will hold a regular meeting at 0900 on January 6, 2021. The meeting will be held in the Victor G. Atiyeh Boardroom A145, however due to COVID-19 safety protocols there will be no in-person attendance other than DPSST staff. • Establish the Chair and Vice Chair of the committee
• Discussion identifying changes between the 2007 Edition of NFPA 1005 and the 2019 Edition of NFPA 1005
o Does the Task Force want to adopt the 2019 Edition into permanent Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR)?
o How will this affect the Oregon fire service and achieving certification?
• Discuss NFPA 1005 Application for Certification
o Should Task Performances be allowed in lieu of completing a Task Book?
• Discuss NFPA 1005 Task Book
o How many sign offs for the job performance requirements? There can be one to three.
• Discuss NFPA 1005 Guide to Certification
o Should DPSST staff create a guide for group approval (can be done via email after the meeting)?
o What courses/curriculum will cover the training components for certification?
o What else should go in the guide?
• Discuss OAR as related to NFPA 1005 and next steps.

This is a public meeting, subject to the public meeting law and it will be recorded. Deliberation of issues will only be conducted by NFPA Marine Fire Fighting for Land-Based Fire Fighters Task Force members unless permitted by the Chair. Individuals who engage in disruptive behavior that impedes official business will be asked to stop being disruptive or leave the meeting. Additional measures may be taken to have disruptive individuals removed if their continued presence poses a safety risk to the other persons in the room or makes it impossible to continue the meeting
