Meth/Heroin Arrest (Photo) - 12/03/21

Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team have been conducting an investigation into the reported illegal drug activity taking place at a residence in the 100 block of Northpark Lane in Roseburg.  The investigation lasted for several weeks, and eventually detectives were able to establish probable cause for the arrest of 65 year old Norbert Huntley for 2 counts of Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, based on activities that were taking place at the residence.

On Thursday, December 2nd, at approximately 5:30 PM, detectives culminated the investigation with a traffic stop of Huntley on Interstate 5 near Yoncalla.  Drug detection K-9 “Trapper” was allowed to check the exterior of the vehicle and he alerted to the presence of narcotics inside.  A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 3.1 grams of suspected heroin, and 26.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle.

Huntley was arrested for the crimes that had already been established by detectives, as well as several new crimes, to include an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Driving While Suspended.  In total, Huntley was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on the following charges:

  • Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Attempted Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine
  • Unlawful Possession of Heroin
  • 2 counts of Unlawful Delivery of Heroin
  • Warrant arrest for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor)
  • New charge of Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor)
