Oregon Department Of Human Services Hillsboro And Tigard Free Food Markets Changing Dates - 08/03/26

The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) offices in Hillsboro and Tigard are changing when they hold their Free Food Markets each month.

Starting in September, the ODHS Hillsboro office at 5300 N.E. Elam Young Parkway will hold its Free Food Market the third Tuesday of the month. That means the first new date will be Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The ODHS Tigard office at 10777 S.W. Cascade Ave. will move to the first Monday of the month. The Tigard market will be closed Labor Day. Tigard’s next Free Food Market will be Monday, Oct. 5.

The August dates for the ODHS Hillsboro and Tigard Free Food Markets will stay the same. Hillsboro’s will be Tuesday, Aug. 11. Tigard’s will be Monday, Aug. 24.

"We are grateful for our ongoing partnership with the Oregon Food Bank, [OFB] that makes these markets possible. The new schedule helps OFB streamline deliveries and stretch their budget, ensuring more resources go directly to families in our community facing food insecurity," said Dawn Dzubay, Community Partnership Coordinator at the ODHS Tigard office.

The Free Food Markets are open to anyone. Visitors can take home fresh fruits and vegetables, pantry staples, and a variety of donated household goods such as blankets, pillows, dog food, toys, shoes, clothes and more.

These markets help address the hunger gap in Oregon. Each month, about 130 people visit the Tigard market, benefiting roughly 400 community members. The Hillsboro market serves about 180 people, reaching an estimated 500 community members.
