Death Investigation - 11/20/17

The initial 9-1-1 call took place at 10:07 PM*. The first release inaccurately stated the call was received at 10:07 am.

***UPDATE 11/20/2017***

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has concluded its investigation into the death investigation.

The male victim has been identified as 23 year-old Josman Cereceres of Portland, Oregon.

The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office has concluded Cereceres died of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound. Next of kin has been notified.

There will be no criminal charges.

On Friday, November 17, 2017, at 10:07 pm, a 9-1-1 call was received reporting a shooting at a residence in the 300-block of Temple Brown Road in Roseburg.

Deputies and EMS responded to find a 23 year-old male with a critical gunshot wound. The male was transported to Mercy Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.

Detectives from the Sheriff's Office are continuing their investigation, however primary indications are this is an accidental self-inflicted incident.

Additional details will not be released until Monday at 10:00 am.
