On Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at approximately 5:15 pm, Douglas County Dispatch received a call from a male stating he was following his stolen vehicle, however by the end of the call the male lost sight of it. Deputies and assisting law enforcement officers checked the area for the stolen vehicle, but were unable to locate it.

Later in the evening at 6:53 pm, the dispatch center again received a call from the same male. He stated he had re-located the stolen vehicle at the Tenmile Store and that the driver had attempted to run him over before it fled.

The caller continued to follow the vehicle and at one point the suspect rammed the caller's vehicle.

The stolen vehicle ran out of gas at the intersection of Benedict Road and Ireland Road in Tenmile. The suspect ran from the vehicle.

Responding law enforcement units were able to locate the suspect, identified as 30 year-old Carl Edward Morrison of Tenmile, hiding in the brush.

Morrison was taken into custody without incident and charged with Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Assault II, Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver, Reckless Endangering, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Menacing. He was lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
