On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 11:12 pm, the Douglas County 9-1-1 center received a report of a vehicle crash near Acker Rock Trailhead in Tiller.

The caller, 42 year-old Danny Treskey Jr. of Myrtle Creek, stated he and his 67 year-old father were on a hunting trip when they ran off of the roadway due to snow at about 3:00 pm. Treskey left his father at the vehicle and walked approximately 22 miles until his brother found him and took him to cell service to call for emergency services.

Responders were able to locate the senior Treskey at approximately 1:50 am. He was reported to be alert, but cold. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center by ambulance for evaluation.
