Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office - Arrest Made After Reports Of Gunshots In Columbia Heights Neighborhood (Photo) -12/15/21
In the early hours of December 14, 2021, multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the 3300 block of Columbia Heights Rd, Longview. Longview Police checked the area and was unable to locate any suspects at that time.
At 0837 hours, another resident in the area called to report finding bullet holes in their home and vehicle. Deputies contacted the resident and observed bullet holes in his garage door, the front of his house, and damage to a vehicle in his driveway. A 9mm bullet was recovered from the scene.
The victim told deputies he found a wallet in the roadway belonging to Nicholas G. Graham, 46, Longview, who lived across the street from the victim. A records check showed Graham to be a convicted felon. When deputies checked the area, they located additional credit cards and identification for Graham on neighboring properties. Deputies also observed a 9mm shell casing on Graham’s porch.
Detectives maintained surveillance on the suspect's residence while deputies prepared a search warrant. Prior to the warrant being served, a detective observed Nicholas Graham enter a detached garage and saw that he was in possession of a pistol. The detective followed when Graham drove away from the residence. Deputies were able to stop Graham’s vehicle and took Graham into custody at Washington Way and 15th Ave. Graham was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm pistol at that time.
Deputies served a search warrant on Graham’s residence and vehicle. Deputies located 9mm casings outside Graham’s residence, in line with the damage to the victim’s property. Deputies also found evidence that rounds had been fired inside Graham’s detached garage. Two additional firearms were located in the residence.
Nicholas Graham was booked into Cowlitz County on charges of Unlawful Possession of Firearm 2nd Degree – 3 counts, Malicious Mischief 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment and Loaded Pistol in Vehicle.
