Kelso/Lexington area- Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue responded to a reported pickup truck fire at the intersection of Westside HWY and Early Bird Drive at 3:35 AM, this morning. Dispatchers updated that the driver of the vehicle was injured with bystanders attempting to pull him out of the vehicle.
C2FR responded with 2- Fire Engines, 1- Ambulance and a Battalion Chief from the Lexington and Kelso Stations. Initial units arrived on scene within 6 minutes and located the pickup which had completely rolled over, struck trees and was fully involved with fire. Bystanders, including a St. John RN that had just left from her shift, were with the driver who had received potentially serious injuries.
The driver was transported emergently, by C2FR Paramedics to St. John Emergency Department
Fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and all C2FR units returned to service by 4:55 AM
