Council for the Homeless Launches Campaign to Fund First-Ever Vehicle:

“Help Put Hope on the Road” aims to raise $45,000 during Give More 24!

 

VANCOUVER, Wash. (Sept. 9, 2026) — Council for the Homeless (CFTH) announced today a fundraising campaign to obtain its first-ever program vehicle. This is an essential resource that will strengthen coordinated outreach efforts across Clark County and reduce some barriers for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

 

This Give More24! Help put hope on the road.

 

Since 1989, CFTH has been serving Clark County and is the leading agency for the Homeless Response System. From emergency shelter, rental assistance, coordinated entry and outreach, CFTH connects families, seniors, veterans, and youth to the support they need with about four dozen community partners.

 

“Providing a people-centered, equity-driven, and collaborative approach to housing solutions is important to our mission prevent and end homelessness,” says CFTH CEO Sesany Fennie-Jones. “Having the ability to purchase a program vehicle will support our day-to-day efforts to serve our participants, distribute supplies, and advocate for change at the state level.”

 

CFTH staff walk alongside people throughout each milestone, offering trust, resources, and consistent support. Yet, transportation remains one of the greatest obstacles. For our neighbors living on street and working toward housing, missing even one appointment—for housing assessment, support services, job interview, etc.—can set their journey home back weeks, even months.

 

One Ride Can Make All the Difference:

  • A ride to a housing appointment or to replace identification
  • Efficient distribution of supplies to partnering agencies
  • More effective response during extreme weather

 

A dedicated program vehicle will transform how the agency delivers compassionate, effective support throughout the county. During extreme weather, conditions are dangerous for folks living outside and a vehicle will support efforts to distribute life-saving supplies.

 

Reliable transportation will allow the team to meet people exactly where they are, distribute essential supplies, respond swiftly during extreme weather, and expand outreach into areas that have been difficult to reach consistently. The van will serve as a visible, welcoming sign that help—and hope—are on the way.

 

The goal is clear: Raise $45,000 to purchase the organization’s first program vehicle and put HOPE on the road.
