Corvallis Police Arrest Suspect Following Report of Shots Fired

 

On August 20, 2026, at approximately 11:37 a.m., Corvallis Police Department officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of 1780 NE Four Acre Place.

 

Several witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area, and one witness provided officers with a description of the individual believed to be involved. Officers were already nearby handling an unrelated call for service and responded immediately.

 

Officers quickly established a safety perimeter and began searching the vacant area south of The Home Depot. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the search, providing a canine team and drone unit.

 

At approximately 12:29 p.m., officers located and arrested Alejandro Aguilar Oseguera, 21, of Corvallis.

 

Based on information gathered during the investigation, officers do not believe Oseguera was shooting at a specific person. Appropriate notifications were made to community partners in the vicinity while officers conducted the search.

 

Oseguera was arrested for the following offenses:

 

Criminal Trespass in the First Degree – ORS 164.245

Unlawful Use of a Weapon – ORS 166.220

Littering – ORS 164.805

 

Oseguera is in custody, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
