Columbia Springs Annual "Hooked on Nature" brings in generous support from community (Photo) - 08/13/18

Vancouver, WA - Columbia Springs, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit located on the Old Evergreen Highway, hosted its annual fundraiser “Hooked on Nature” at Gaiser Hall at Clark College on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018. Guests supported the Columbia Springs mission to provide excellent environmental education to local schools and healthy outdoor activities to the wider community.

Five local celebrity chefs from the Tod and Maxine Culinary Institute at Clark College, Beaches Restaurant and Bar, Tommy O’s Pacific Rim Bistro, and Simply Thyme competed with their best salmon dishes. Guests voted Earl Frederick from Clark College as the winner of the Second Annual Local Celebrity Chef Salmon Bake-Off.

“We are so thankful to the chefs for making this a very special event. We are also appreciative of our community for supporting the mission at Columbia Springs. Last year, Columbia Springs’ programs reached over 16,000 people. Our field trips served over 6,000 local grade school students. We can only continue this essential work with the support of our community,” said Executive Director Maureen Montague.

The event brought in over $60,000 in donations.
