News Release

Clatsop County Parks Fees To Increase Jan. 1 To Support Maintenance & Services - 10/27/26

ASTORIA, OR — Clatsop County Parks will update several day-use and facility fees beginning January 1, 2027, the first increase to many of the fees in more than a decade.

The additional revenue will help support maintenance and services at County parks as aging infrastructure, increased use, and rising operating costs place greater demands on the park system.

Clatsop County Parks provide recreational opportunities for residents and visitors throughout the county. Fees help pay for ongoing maintenance and operations, including restrooms, picnic areas, trails, parking areas, boat access, and other park facilities.

Fee changes beginning January 1

  • Day-use parking: The daily fee will increase from $5 to $10 per vehicle. Day-use fees will be collected year-round at:
    • Carnahan County Park
    • Klootchy Creek County Park
    • Westport County Park
    • John Day County Park
    • Cullaby Lake County Park
  • Annual County Parks Pass: The annual pass will increase from $30 to $50. The pass is valid at all Clatsop County parks where day-use fees are collected. It is valid for a full 12 months beginning in the month it is purchased.
  • Cullaby Lake shelters: Reservations for the North and South shelters at Cullaby Lake County Park will increase from $35 to $50 per day. Reservations can be made by calling 503-338-3740 and leaving voicemail.

The Parks Department will also launch a new online payment system in January, making it easier for visitors to purchase park passes and pay applicable fees online.

Information about Clatsop County parks, facilities, and passes is available on the Clatsop County Parks website.
