Clarkston, WA—The Clarkston School Board at its regularly scheduled meeting Monday night (11/23/2020) discussed future educational plans and a schedule for the week following Thanksgiving Break. The School Board invited two guests to offer public health guidance: Dr. Bob Lutz, the Asotin County Health Officer, and Brady Woodbury, the Asotin County Health Administrator. The general consensus among experts and educators across the state and specifically our region is a dramatic spike in the virus through Thanksgiving. With that anticipated spike will come additional sickness, more quarantined staff, and increased hospital load.
After a lengthy discussion, the following plan was approved:
Although the decision was not easy, the board and administrators all expressed support. Some of the factors that went in to the decision are as follows:
LMS and CHS will continue to provide drive-thru breakfast and lunch pick-up. Meals are free and available to all kids ages 1-18.
