Clarkston, WA - On October 4, 2019, the Clarkston High School Career and Technical Education Instructors took advantage of the district's professional development day to meet with local industry and business leaders. Their goal was to make face to face connections within our local community to determine what current labor needs are and how they can better prepare our students to enter the workforce. Instructor Cami Browne stated, "It is important for teachers to see firsthand opportunities that are available to our students. Our goal as a district is to ensure that our students have the skill set to help them succeed wherever life takes them, whether that is a four year program, a two year program, apprenticeship, or directly into the workforce." On Friday, CHS CTE staff met with the following businesses: PK Metal, Seekins Precision, Schweitzer Engineering, Inland Cellular, Maurices, and Pier 1.
